AGBM, Inc., is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop an expansive collaboration of resources and information specific to uplifting, educating, honoring and empowering Black male youth.
Our mission is also to provide a global forum to dispel the myth that "there are no good Black men" by creating a safe haven void of unkind criticism, persecution and degradation, sadly too often found in the media and society at-large.
Nominees were selected on the basis of their community involvement and commitment. Each nominee exemplifies one of the five gateways of excellence found on www.agoodblackman.com.
Our Heros: Sgt. DeLacy Davis (Founder of Black Cops Against Police Brutality.)
Passing The Baton: Craig Thompson (Attorney and radio/TV talk show host.)
Keeper of the Flame: Dr. John Chissell (Physician, author and educator.)
Our Better Halves: K.C. Burton (Devoted father, husband and community leader.)
Our Future: Derrell Owens (Youth mentor and playwright.)
