"So long as we live, they too shall live, for they are now a part of us, as we remember them" – a Jewish prayer-

LeRoy developed his love of airplanes at a very young age. As a little boy he would go with his dad to watch airplanes taking off and landing. By the time he was sixteen he was licensed to fly small planes. He graduated from the Air Force academy class of 1987, 31st Squadron. LeRoy served his country as a captain in the Air Force, flying the C-141 Starlifter, and was a Veteran of Desert Storm.

LeRoy was known for his kind, genuine, caring disposition. He was the type of person that truly listened when you spoke. He was an exceptional individual with a wonderful sense of humor. He was very friendly and could start a conversation with anyone. LeRoy married Melodie Thorpe on May 24, 1998 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. From that union, their daughter Laurel Nicole was born October 25, 2000.

LeRoy had many passions in his life. Travel was probably the biggest one. He had traveled all over the world with the Air Force. LeRoy had a passion for photography and took many pictures of sunsets on these trips. On his off days, LeRoy liked to keep busy. He loved going to movies, Broadway shows and concerts. LeRoy and Melodie enjoyed all different types of cuisine and were always trying out new restaurants.

When their daughter Laurel was born, LeRoy intuitively knew how to be a good father. He would call home from trips and want to know all the details of her day - what she had eaten, how she had spent her day, what time she went to bed. She was truly daddy’s little girl.

LeRoy is survived by his wife Melodie, daughter Laurel, mother Ilse, brother Thomas-Freimark Sr., sisters Marilyn Johnson, Germaine Wilson, Theresa Cooke-Poche Ramirez, Cheryl Homer-Wilson, Monique Homer, Christine (Kiki) Homer and Michelle Homer, as well as his mother and father-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Although we will never know for sure the events that transpired on Flight 93, we are all very proud of him, his life and everything he was.
