Derrell G. Owens
His personal conviction to break stereotypes, especially those pertaining to African American men, is evident in his personal life and in his writing. Derrell is the director of The Alpha & Omega Drama Ministry, a nonprofit Christian drama group. As the writer of the ministry, his productions present African American men as positive role models and individuals with strong spiritual beliefs. He teaches drama workshops that have a portion that addresses the importance of positive images of African Americans. Click here to read more.

Tamir resides in Baltimore, Maryland with his mother Lelia, his father Khaleeq, his brother Qadir and his sisters Kamilah and Malikah. Tamir presently attends Garrett Heights Elementary School where he has maintained a prefect attendance record for the 1998-99 school year.
