2004 LOE Award Recipients
Throughout the year, they have made many contributions to the African American community with their long hours of dedicated work-a beautiful example of unselfish love. We appreciate their investment of time and talents to positive endeavors that support, empower and uplift the African American community and in particular, its males.
It is in that spirit that we extend our sincere gratitude and heartfelt congratulations on their selection as the recipient of the Legacy of Excellence (LOE) Award from A Good Black Man, Inc. (AGBM, Inc). This year's celebration will take place in the Fine Arts Theatre of the Gaare Auditorium on the Liberty campus of Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) -- 2901 Liberty Road in Baltimore, Maryland. The festivities begin at 2 p.pm. with a special Sponsors Reception designed to give the nominees, event sponsors and dignitaries an opportunity to meet and network (contact us at info@agoodblackman.com for information about how you can become a sponsor). A general reception will begin at 3 p.m. The event ends at 6 p.m.
This award is bestowed to 5 outstanding individuals who exemplify the five principles set forth in the gateways of our web site: www.agoodblackman.com -- the web site devoted to promoting the positive contributions that Black males make to their families and communities.
The Gateways and the 2004 LOE Award honorees are:
1. Our Heros Gateway: In appreciation for his acts of kindness and courage in or for the benefit of the African American community, AGBM recognizes Herman Williams, Jr.
2. Passing The Baton Gateway: In appreciation for volunteering his time to provide guidance, counseling and mentoring that empower his people, AGBM recognizes David Miller
3. Keepers of the Flame Gateway: In appreciation for his efforts to expose the world to the African American scholars, teachers and leaders, AGBM recognizes Charlie Dugger
4. Our Better Halves Gateway: In appreciation for his efforts to nurture and nourish his relationship with his partner, AGBM recognizes Avon Bellamy.
5. Our Future Gateway: In appreciation for his efforts to make a positive investment in the future of his community, AGBM recognizes Farajii J. Muhammad.
