Black Male of the Month: Patrick H. Freeman
Patrick has been on the battle field for equal rights and justice for over 8 years. He started out by appearing weekly on student radio Sunyastonbrook. He promotes the history of our people that has been overlooked in the history books. He has coached little league and worked fearlessly to inform our community via his own radio talk show in Buffalo, NY.
He has a (radio) show called, The Message. Each week he features learned and conscious Black writers who inform and inspire our people. He has the only sports to capture the interest of youth so that they can be inspired to use their talents as a tool to stay away from the streets.
He examines and uncovers the negative influences that put major sports figures in the news. Where other news media puts us down, he showcases the owners and how they use the athletes to make millions. He is well read, does extensive research and is well armed with knowledge - not just emotions!
He went to Egypt with his undergraduate class and has not been the same after seeing the ancient civilization that was put together by our ancestors. His favorites are Dr. John Henrik Clark and Malcolm X He and a group of his peers celebrate their birthdays every year in Buffalo, NY.
He may one day come to national prominence due to his loyalty, devotion and knowledge of all mankind with special interests in the African American and The Motherland from which he sprang. His radio audience knows him as The Mighty Oba. He is a real brother with a focus and a future that is inclusive.
