Minister RhaaShan Johnson: Keeping It Gospel in the New Millennium

RhaaShan Johnson was born in Gainesville, Florida. He was raised in Baltimore, Maryland and is a product of the Baltimore County public school system. After attending Randallstown High School his freshman and sophomore years, RhaaShan was transferred to Linganore High School in Mt. Airy, Maryland where he graduated after completing his junior and senior years. Upon graduation from Linganore High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. His motivating personality and contagious energy reconciled with intellect, human comprehension, and dynamic leadership skills, propelled him through the rank structure to quickly become one of the youngest Sergeant's in his unit.

RhaaShan was stationed in Jacksonville, North Carolina for the majority of his enlistment, but during his seven-year tour in the U.S. Marine Corps he has been deployed to such places as Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Guam; Okinawa, Japan; and Panama. After seven years of honest and faithful active duty service to the Marine Corps he was Honorably discharged in October of 2000.

On February 16, 1997, while a member of Bethel Word Ministries, Church of God In Christ (C.O.G.I.C) in Jacksonville, North Carolina (Pastor E.A. Perry, Senior Pastor) Minister RhaaShan Johnson was licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. During his membership at Bethel, this anointed teacher and preacher of the gospel served in and on numerous auxiliaries/ministries such as: The Security Ministry, The Night Of Caring (N.O.C) Outreach Ministry, The Bethel Victory Choir, The Ministerial Staff, and The Pastor's Armor bearer.

Since his arrival in the D.C. metropolitan area, RhaaShan has been a faithful member of Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church under the anointed leadership of "The Honorable" Bishop Alfred A. Owens Jr., D.Min and Co-Pastor Susie C. Owens. RhaaShan currently serves on the Evangelistic Board, Security Ministry, and the Youth and Young Adult Ministry.

RhaaShan's self-entitled debut album (available June 15th, 2002) fully demonstrates his awesome ministerial "versatility" and the anointing that God has placed on his life. His style embraces music from a variety of genres including R&B, hip-hop, and reggae, and transforms it into a new and contemporary form of Gospel music that is unlike ANY OTHER.
